Poori Pitla


All You Need For Poori:
  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
The Recipe:
  • Mix wheat flour, salt, sugar and knead well with water to make a stiff dough. The dough should be stiffer than rotis (Roti dough is very soft)
  • Add the oil in the end and knead again and close with a lid
  • Let it rest for atleast 30 minutes (you can skip this step if you do not have time)
  • Take a medium sized ball and roll it in a cylinder shape. Then cut small pieces from the cylindrical dough and keep them aside. Work on the entire dough this way and make small balls first.
  • Take one small ball and press into a slightly thick disk (shoould not be very thin)
  • Fry the disks in hot oil. 

All You Need For Pitla:
  • 1 big onion, cut into thin long slices
  • 3 green chillies, cut length wise
  • 3 big potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • Popu - Avalu, Chana dal, Urad Dal, Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp Besan (optional)
The Recipe:
  • Heat oil and add popu along with green chillies
  • Add Onions and fry for a minute
  • Add the boiled and mashed alu along with salt
  • Add water to your desired consistency and cook for few minutes
  • Add besan at the very end, cook for a minute and turn off the stove.
  • Serve with hot Pooris
