Sojjappam

All You Need:
  • Sooji 1 cup
  • Sugar 3/4 cup
  • Water 2 cups
  • Elachi powder
  • Maida 1/2 cup
  • Ghee 1 tbsp
  • Oil to grease
The Recipe:
  • Make the Kesari first. Boil 2 cups water and then add sugar. Let it melt. In the end add sooji and elachi powder. Mix well. Add a tbsp of ghee in the end. The Kesari should be thick and not watery. If you think its watery, cook for stove for longer time for the water to evaporate. Let it cool.
  • Mix maida with water and some oil. Add oil on top in the end and cover it. Let it rest for an hour.
  • Make balls of kesari. Size of Maida ball should be half of kesari ball. Cover on all sides and press flat with your palms. 
  • Instead of deep frying them, just cook on a tawa like a roti.
