Make Paneer at Home

All You Need:
  •  1 Litre fresh organic whole milk
  • 2 tsp Vinegar or Lemon Juice
  • Cheese Cloth
  • 1 small cup of water

The Recipe:
  • Boil the milk. Mix in between. After it boils, remove the cream at the top
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes and then add a glass of water to bring down the heat.
  • Gradually add the vinegar/lemon juice and mix slowly. DO NOT mix vigorously otherwise paneer will be crumbly.
  • Let it sit till the milk completely cools down. The paneer separates from the whey.
  • Put a cheese cloth on top of a big strainer and strain the paneer.
  • Carefully fold the cheese cloth on all sides....the fold should be smooth to get a smooth paneer
  • Place the cheese cloth with paneer on the top of a colander and put the colander on a big plate. Place a plate on top of cheese cloth and a heavy weight on top of it. This is a shortcut step because the water will ooze out of paneer and also the paneer gets packed at the same time.
  • Set aside for 2 hrs. Cut into cubes and chill.
