Rava Dosa

All You Need:
  • Rice Flour 1 cup
  • Sooji 1 cup
  • Maida or wheat flour  1/2 cup
  • 1.5 tbsp yoghurt
  • 2.5 cups water (+1/4 cup if not watery enough)
  • Chopped green chillies, cilantro
  • Chopped ginger
  • Curry leaves
  • Hing
  • Jeera
  • Kaju (Optional)
  • Finely Chopped onions (Optional)
  • Whole or crushed Black pepper (Optional)
The Recipe:
  • Mix everything and let rest for 30 mins. The batter is thick after this. Add more water and make it watery.
  • In both the above cases, the batter should be thin and watery.
  • Heat a non stick tawa/iron griddle, take a little batter in a ladle and start filling it from the outer corners of the tawa to the inside in a net like pattern from a height of 6-8 inches. This height creates the lace like look.
  • Drizzle a tsp of oil around the dosa.
  • Tip - Make sure pan is medium hot. Never pour in the same place twice. Drop small amounts all over the pan.
