All You Need:
- 1/2 Cup Roasted Urad Dal
- 1/4 cup Putnalu
- 3 Cups Rice flour
- Small bowl Hot smoking oil for dough
- Hot water for dough
- Salt
- Sesame seeds
- Hing
- Oil for deep fry
- Dry roast 1 cup urad dal and at the end roast putnalu.
- Let it cool and grind to a fine powder
- Sieve the rice flour along with the urad powder . This step is important.
- Add salt, sesame seeds and hing and mix well
- Add hot oil and hot water and mix well. Mixture will be crumbly at this point. Keep aside covered with a lid
- Take 2-3 ladles of the mixture in a separate bowl and mix with wet hands. Make a smooth soft dough and add to muruku press
- Press murukus in hot oil
- Once oil bubbles clear up, flip and cook for a minute more and remove
