Kajji Kayalu

All You Need:
  • Maida 150 gms
  • Ghee
  • Water
  • Filling -> Dry coconut grated+sugar or jaggery+elachi+khus khus 1 tsp+roasted kaju. Grind all together
  • Alternate filling->Dalia powder+Coconut Powder+elachi+Sugar. Grind all together
The Recipe:
  • Heat ghee till fumes appear
  • Mix maida,ghee,some water to make a chapathi like dough and cover it for an hour
  • Meanwhile grind your filling
  • Take a lime sized ball and roll out a poori
  • Place 1.5tsp of filling on one half of the poori and fold the other side over and press the ends very tightly
  • A tip in the above step is: dip your index finger in water and run it lightly on the inner part of poori's edge before folding it together
  • You can cut the edge with a serrated knife/spoon to give it a design pattern
  • Fry in oil and let them cool completely
