Ashoka Halwa

All You Need:
  • Yellow Moong Dal 1 cup
  • Sugar 2 to 2.5 cups
  • Ghee 1 to 1.5 cups
  • Whole wheat flour 1.2 cup
  • Maida 1/2 cup
  • Milk 1 tbsp
  • Red food color
  • Saffron
  • Cardamom powder
The Recipe:
  • Pressure cook moong dal with 3 cups water and mash till smooth
  • To this, add sugar and mix well
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add wheat flour and maida. Stir until there are no lumps
  • Keep stirring until you get a nice aroma and it turns golden
  • Add the moong mixture and stir until well cooked and tha halwa leaves the sides of the pan
  • Add the milk mixture,saffron,food color and cook well
