Undrallu/Kudumulu

All You Need:
  • Rice Rava / Cracked Rice : 1/2 cup
  • Water : 1.5 cups
  • Chana Dal : 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds : 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee : 1 tspSalt to taste
The Recipe:
  • Soak the chana dal for 30 minutes and set aside.
  • Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel and add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Now add the soaked chana dal and fry for a minute.
  • Then add water and bring to a boil.
  • Add the salt and rice rava to it and mix very well.
  • Reduce the flame, cover with a lid and let it cook completely.
  • Switch off the flame and allow it cool.
  • Once cool, divide the rice rava mixture into a round balls.
  • Steam cook the balls on medium flame for about 10 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame and allow it cool.
