Rava Laddu

The Recipe:
Rava : Sugar = 1:1
  • Roast Kaju in ghee and keep aside.
  • Roast Sooji in ghee and keep aside.
  • Roast grated coconut to remove raw smell and add to the sooji.
  • The qty of coconut is andaaza (small qty is enough)...for 6 rice cups of sooji, we added half chippa of coconut.
  • Add sugar in a skillet and add few SPOONS of water.
  • For 6 rice cups of sugar, we added around 1/2 cup of water.
  • Just make sure that the sugar is soaked enough in water. Let the sugar dissolve. Get to the theega pakam stage (i.e. from your fingers,we should get strings when tried 2-3 times consecutively).
  • Add the Kaju-Sooji-Coconut mixture into this along with elachi and mix very well and switch off the stove in a minute or so.
  • Let the mixture cool down enough so that you can make balls. Wet your hands with warm milk and roll if you are unable to roll balls.
