Bendakay Gojju

All You Need:
  • Bendakay pieces, slit vertically and cut into medium size pieces
  • Popu -> Avalu, Urad dal, Chana dal, Jeera, Red chillies, 
  • Small glass water
  • Watery Tamarind Pulp
  • Hing
  • Sambar Powder
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Jaggery powder
  • Nuvvulu Powder
  • Cilantro
The Recipe:
  • Slit bendakays vertically in the center and cut into small pieces (Not rounds)
  • Heat oil and add popu - avalu, Urad dal, chana dal, jeera, Red chilies, Turmeric, Karepaku till they give out a nice aroma. (Do not add Hing yet)
  • Add Bendakay and Green chillies, salt and add a little water. Close the lid for some time and cook. Then open the lid and keep cooking till the pieces soften
  • Add Tamarind juice and keep cooking on a low flame
  • Add Red chilli powder,Jaggery Powder, Sambar Powder, Nuvvulu Powder and Hing and cook on a slow flame for a few minutes and turn off stove
