All You Need:
- Barley seeds 1 cup
- Veggies finely chopped - Cabbage,Capsicum,Celery,Carrots,Beans,corn
- Onions finely chopped
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Spring onions finely chopped (optional)
- Boiled Kala chana (optional)
- Dry roast barley seeds for about 10 mins till a nice aroma comes out
- After it cools, grind the seeds ( can coarse grind)
- Make the broth by adding 1tbsp powder for every cup of water (I did 4 cups water) and let it boil. Once bubbles appear, simmer for 10 minutes more and switch off stove
- In Instant pot, add a tbsp oil and add ginger garlic paste. Saute for a few secs and add onions and spring onions
- After sauting for a min, add veggies and salt and cook for 3 minutes
- Add the broth and pepper and put IP in Soup mode (30 mins). Alternately you can make all this on stove top for 30 mins and keep stirring in between.
- In the end, adjust salt, pepper and water as per your preference
- While serving, add boiled kala chana in the bowl for added protein and taste
