Quinoa Patty

All You Need:
  • 1 cup of Quinoa
  • 1 cup of old fashion oats
  • 1/4th cup of cooked black beans
  • 1/4th cup of sweet corn
  • 1 big chopped red onion
  • 2 medium chopped tomatoes
  • Red chili powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon of roasted Cummin powder
  • 1/4th teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of  cooking oil
The Recipe:
  • Boil quinoa with 2 cups of water for 20 minutes (1 use pressure cooker and cooked until 1 whistle). 
  • In pan, heat oil. add chopped onions, salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, tomato and fry until they are mashed.
  • Then add cummin powder, garam masala powder and cook for few more minutes.
  • Add cooked black beans and mash with potato masher.
  • Then add corn and cook for 3-5 minutes, and then add cooked Quinoa, mix and stir until all the water is evaporated. 
  • Grind oats and make powder. Add little by little to the mix and make like dough. 
  • In a baking tray, make patties with the mix and bake for 15 minutes on each each at 350 deg F. 
  • Can be served with condiments or goes well in the sandwich.
