Shankarapali (Shakkar Para)

All You Need:
  • Maida 2 cups
  • Milk 1/3 cup
  • Powdered Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Ghee 1/4 cup
  • Pinch of salt
  • Elachi or Vanilla essence
The Recipe:
  • Heat milk in a microwave until warm
  • Mix powdered sugar,ghee and elachi and stir till the sugar dissolves (use hands to mix)
  • Add the maida and a pinch of salt. Slowly add the milk mixture and form a smooth dough (using a food processor is best). 
  • Cover and rest it for 20 minutes. The dough will continue to harden as the ghee starts to solidify.
  • Make 4 balls and roll each ball into small chapathis (not too thin, not too thick). Cut the chapathi into a perfect circle using karanji spoon cutter.
  • Deep fry till you get a golden brown color
  • Let these cool completely so that they can turn crispy
  • After they totally cool down, store in an air-tight container
