Rava Kesari

All You Need:
  • Sooji 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 2 to 2.5 cups
  • Ghee 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder 1tsp
  • Sliced Almonds (Optional)
  • Ghee roasted Cashews and raisins (Optional)
  • Food color (Optional)
The Recipe:
  • Roast the rava in a tsp of ghee until a nice aroma emanates
  • Boil water+sugar+food color and when bubbles begin to appear, slowly add the rava making sure no lumps are formed
  • Add ghee and Almonds/Kaju/Raisins and mix well. Switch off stove
  • Transfer the kesari on a plate immediately and spread evenly
  • Cut into cakes and serve
