Masala Vada

All You Need:
  • Chana Dal 1 cup
  • Raw Rice 1 tbsp
  • Ginger
  • Garlic v lil or Hing
  • Green chillies
  • Jeera
  • Onions chopped
  • Curry leaves
  • Cilantro
  • Salt
  • Garam Masala
  • Mint leaves (Optional)
The Recipe:
  • Soak the dal and rice for 2 hrs
  • Keep a fistful of Chana dal aside and grind the rest along with ginger,lil garlic or Hing,green chillies,jeera,mint leaves,Cilantro coarsely
  • Add chopped onions,curry leaves,cilantro,salt and garam masala and mix well
  • Add the remaining chana dal and mix well. Make flat patties and deep fry
Variation : Use Chana dal : Moong dal in 1 :1 ratio along with little rice and follow the same process as above
