Chinthachiguru Pappu

All You Need:
  • Chinthachiguru (tender tamarind leaves without stalks) 1 cup
  • Toor dal or Moong dal 1/2 cup
  • Haldi
  • Green chillies
  • Chopped onions
  • Tadka -> Mustard seeds,Jeera,redchilies,garlic grate,curry leaves
The Recipe:
  • Add all ingredients except chinthachiguru with 1.5 cups water and cook till half done
  • If you use Toor dal, then the above step needs to be done in a cooker. If moong, it can be cooked on stove top
  • Slightly crush the leaves and add to the dal
  • Cover and cook on a low heat till leaves and dal are fully cooked and soft
  • Add Tadka and cook for 1 more minute
  • Serve with vadiyalu and ghee
