- In a tbsp of hot oil, add tadka -> mustard seeds,methi powder,hing,red chillies, curry leaves, slit green chillies.
- Then add tomatoes and slight water.
- After 2 minutes, add tamarind juice and 1/2 spoon sugar and little red chilly powder.
- After the mixture gives out a nice aroma, add dal and salt and cilantro (optional).
The Recipe Variety 2:
- In pressure cooker, add dal, tomatoes, little onion, small garlic clove, tamarind, haldi,cilantro, green chillies, red chilli powder, hing.
- After the above gets cooked, add tadka and mix well. In Tadka -> mustard seeds,methi powder,hing,red chillies, curry leaves
