Stuffed Dondakaya

VARIATION 1
 
All You Need:
  • Dondakaya whole (Tindoora)
  • Powder -> Red chillies, Jeera, Putnalu, garlic,curry leaves.
The Recipe:
  • Make a vertical slit on one side of each tindoora length wise. The tindoora should remain intact after slitting
  • Deep fry all of them
  • Roast all the powder ingredients and grind
  • Remove immediately and stuff powder in them
  • Heat a tsp of oil in a skillet and add the stuffed tindoora and fry on medium heat for 2 mts
  • Decorate with coriander

 VARIATION 2
       
All You Need:
  • Dondakaya whole (Tindoora)
  • Equal amounts of roasted sesame seeds powder, roasted peanut powder, desiccated Coconut
  • Thinly sliced onions
  • Tamarind paste
  • Chilli powder
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder
  • Ginger Garlic paste
The Recipe:
  • Make a vertical slit on one side of each tindoora length wise. The tindoora should remain intact after slitting
  • Heat oil in a pan, and add some tadka. Then add ginger garlic paste. Once the rawness is gone, add onions. Saute till the onions are half cooked and then add slit dondakaya
  • Now add a little salt and cover it with the lid for couple of mins. Saute and cover it again for 5 mins. 
  • Now add tamarind paste, water, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and leave it to boil till dondakaya is cooked. 
  • Then add the powder (sesame peanut and coconut) and cook till oil oozes out. 
  • Finally garnish with chopped cilantro/coriander
